Netflix Hires First Dedicated iGaming Ad Specialist
Netflix has taken its first step towards integrating real-money gaming into its advertising ecosystem by appointing Ian Hunter as its dedicated iGaming specialist.

Based in the Netflix Ads division, Ian Hunter will focus on building partnerships with regulated iGaming advertisers.
Hunter brings a hybrid background to the role. He spent over eight years at Snapchat developing commercial partnerships, and gained direct gambling industry experience as Head of Digital Marketing at The Stars Group, the poker giant now owned by Flutter Entertainment.
This is the first time that Netflix has created a role specifically for gambling advertising. This move comes as the streaming platform continues to expand its advertising business, following the launch of its ad-supported tier in 2022.
For the iGaming industry, Hunter’s appointment signals a growing recognition among major digital platforms that real-money gaming requires specialised handling. However, Netflix will strictly adhere to local advertising regulations, partnering only with licensed operators that meet market-specific requirements.
Hunter’s appointment reflects the ongoing maturation of Netflix’s ad strategy, highlighting that regulated iGaming is becoming a more relevant category for big tech.
